Meet Your Trainer

When I started…and restarted….

I have always hovered around the world of fitness - I was a varsity athlete, one of my first jobs was at a women’s only gym, I’ve always enjoyed moving my body and being active. However, like many, once I had children, my focus turned to being a mom and exercise dropped to the bottom of my priority list.

In my twenties, when I found myself needing to lose weight, I turned to Weight Watchers and successfully lost around 40 pounds (I am not an employee nor endorsed by Weight Watchers - just a long time member). However, I had been focused on achieving a certain look rather than on cultivating a healthy lifestyle. I hadn’t taken the time to learn and build a positive relationship with my body when I was focused on aesthetics alone.

Over the years, a lot of life happened - weight came back, and by my late thirties, I found myself needing to lose weight once again. This time, though, my mindset had completely shifted. I was focused on doing this for my health and my future, not for any outward appearance. While I did return to Weight Watchers to help me with my food tracking - I took my time, developed lasting habits and embraced a healthier way of thinking about both exercise and weight loss. Along the way, I discovered resistance training and weight lifting - game changers in my journey

I didn’t join a fancy gym or set up a home fitness studio. I had a pair of adjustable dumbbells and consistently committed to at least 15 minutes a day of working out in my living room. I learned that even small, consistent efforts can lead to big changes - not just physically, but mentally too. Showing up for yourself, even in small ways, feels empowering!

Today, I am a mom who found her strength through her own fitness and weight loss journey. The confidence and shift in mindset that fitness has given me, inspired me to go through the process of becoming a certified personal trainer. I want to help others discover their own strength and potential, just as I did!
